Mach-1 Drive Collar Technology
Drive Collar Technology is another patented innovation developed to support the Mach-1 System. This tooling solves the age old problem of pull down that occurs with side milling on large diameter roughing mills. After installing Mach-1 end mill holders and shell mill holders into the spindle, the collar is tightened around the spindle nose with a hex key or Allen wrench to create the most rigid R8 tooling in the industry.
The Mach-1 Tooling System can do everything that R8 tooling was ever designed to do and more. Drive Collar Tooling is the product line that allows us to make that claim.
This exceptionally rigid tooling is available for use with the Mach-1 as well as original style or power drawbars. Spindle nose diameters vary for each manufacture; stocked sizes include Bridgeport, Kent, Sharp, Acer, A-Trump and others. We do special orders as well.
Shell Mill Holders
Mach-1 Shell Mill Holders feature our Drive Collar Technology to provide the most rigid R8 shell mill holders in the industry. All of our shell mill holders have this feature as a permanent part of the tool. After installing the Shell Mill into the spindle, the collar is simply tightened around the spindle nose. Large diameter cutters with interrupted cuts will no longer shear your collet keys.

R-8 Endmill Holders with Collars
The Mach-1 Tooling System can do everything that R8 tooling was ever designed to do and more, and drive collar tooling is the product line that allows us to make that claim. These endmill holders come with a patented¹ design drive collar that tightens around the spindle nose for the most rigid R8 tooling in the industry.

Collet Closer System for R8 Collets
The Collet Closer patented design allows for fixed tooling in standard R8 collets.
Collet Closers maintain the tool length offset to work piece zero with the least spindle
overhang in the industry. Our customers that already own collet closers experience unmatched speed & repeatability.
For many years Collet Closers were only available as part of the Mach-1 Tooling System. This helped us to deliver a superior quick change system and only those machinists that had upgraded to our system were able to exploit the benefits of Mach-1 Collet Closers.
Now Collet Closers are available to be used with all R8 milling machines!
Collet Closer Package
The Collet Closer Package for Power Drawbars is designed to create fixed tooling for machinists that are using power drawbars with R8 collets. This Collet Closer kit enhances R8 tooling in mini mills, knee mills, & bed mills with power or standard drawbars.
Right Angle Head Retrofit
With the creation of our patented Drive Collar Tooling came the innovation of retrofitting our customers right angle head. By combining Drive Collar Technology with a simple keyway that mounts inside your right angle head it can now be used with the Mach-1 as well as power drawbars and manual drawbars.
Many people still use their right angle head attachment and some may be hesitant to purchase a quick change drawbar as a result. This is no longer a problem! With this retrofit not only can you use your right angle head with any type of drawbar but it is now driven by the drive collar spindle nose combination that dramatically increases rigidity.
At this point we offer this retrofit as a service for anyone that needs it.
